Back to school innit….

Ok so schools are back now but what is it about the start of term in the majority of schools that seems so rushed? SIMS upgrades to kick off Learning Platform integration….but are they up to date… End of year processes….archiving of old content..here we go again. Updates, patches, cabling and upgrades. Staff training…access . Equipment fixing, moving. Additional hardware…software….. not to mention issues that have occurred due to the maintenance happening in the admin corridor? So why does this happen? Well I suppose the complexity of systems is one issue but the processes and resources behind these are often limited. The fact that full testing never can happen until 1000 kids and staff make the thing creak until finally problems arise….we need a new hub! …and we need to fix the fibre cable.

Oh and don’t forget we have half the budget so maybe next year we should leave the maths department. Right let’s get trained up on smartystudio all day and reflect on how far the next holiday is….

These views are my own and a light hearted view on the start of year.
